Dr. R. Samuel Selvaraj began his academic career as a Professor of Physics in a Tamil Nadu Government College and retired as the Head of the Department of Physics at Loganatha Narayanasamy Government College, Ponneri.

Specializing in Atmospheric Physics, particularly weather forecasting, he has made significant contributions to the field through both research and public engagement. He has actively participated in numerous television programs addressing disaster management and environmental issues, sharing his insights with a wider audience.

Dr. Selvaraj has published over 50 research articles in reputed national and international journals. He was also honored with the Tamil Nadu Best Writer Award for his Tamil book "Vinthaimigu Perandnum," which explores the wonders of galaxies.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has conducted coaching and tuition classes, nurturing generations of students. Under his guidance, eight Ph.D. scholars successfully completed their doctoral research.

Additionally, he served as a resource person for the Central Government’s distance education programs, extending his expertise to learners across the country.
